We Teach Two Classes:
ENH 125 - Winter
A class which examines cultivation of food and ornamental crops in protected and controlled environments, in both soil and soilless systems, and the many biotic and abiotic factors which influence production, including but not limited to: climate, technology, and its economics (capital and operating expenditures) This is a 5-unit course which consists of lecture and a lab session with hands-on learning of plant cultivation.
PLS 100C - Spring
A class which covers how cultivated plants respond to their surrounding environment, including aerial and root-zone conditions. Topics include climate, water, salinity, and nutrient dynamics, as well as their effects on plant growth, crop quality, and nutritional value. The course also introduces plant breeding and modeling approaches for optimizing plant performance across agricultural and urban systems. This is a 3-unit course which is lecture-based.
