Graduate Students
We accept students primarily from the Horticulture and Agronomy Graduate Group (GGHA) and the Plant Biology Graduate Group (PBGG). Please see the main GGHA and PBGG websites for all relevant details. We are currently not accepting any new students for 2026-2027.
We are looking for graduate students who are highly motivated and intellectually curious, strong independent thinkers and problem-solvers, and a willingness to collaborate. Students in the lab are supported through regular discussion and feedback, but are expected to progressively develop independence in designing and leading their research. Above all, students should possess a high level of personal and scientific integrity—your efforts reflect your professional and personal growth as a scientist and an individual, and we hope you make the most of it.
If you are interested in joining our lab for graduate studies, please email Laura a brief statement of specific interests and career goals, and your CV.
Undergraduates
We welcome motivated undergraduates in the plant sciences, especially those curious about physiology, protected cultivation and CEA to join our lab, regardless of their background and expertise. No prior research experience is required, just an interest in learning and engaging with the lab. We value students who are curious, willing to learn, and are reliable, who are willing to gain hands-on experiences working with CEA systems by assisting with experiments and data collection.
All interested students should email either Laura or any of the current graduate students a brief statement of interests and goals if they would like to intern in the lab. We will (very informally) interview interested students to assess for good fit. There may be room for senior projects for committed students. Please don't hesitate to reach out!
